AO1 Plan to lead a sporting and/or recreational activity session
Event: School Sport Games 2012 at Culverhay
| |
Context: Whole school sport competition / celebration in the build up to the London 2012 Olympic games. Part of the Lloyds TSB School Sport Week
Date: Monday 25th –Friday 29th June, 2012
| |
Session Objectives: Is to make sure the group that me and the other coaches are taking give the students the opportunity to learn new skills and have an enjoyment out of taking part in a sporting event before the Olympics in London 2012 using the Olympic values we all know from the other schools that we have coached, we will bring this into the event making sure they have an understanding and knowledge of the sport that there going to be taking part in.
I’m going to make sure that when I plan my session that if there something to happen on that day I will make sure that there is a back up plan for the sport.
I will ensure that everyone will be taking part within the sport no matter what there abilities are they will be taken through the sport. When playing the sport if it’s teamed tasked or individual competiveness they will be trying to win or beat personal goals.
If there is a problem on the day with one or more of the students (depending the nature of the problem) I will deal with it in the best way I feel fit and respecting both sides of the problem with up most respect.
Ill make the sport fun and enjoyable for everyone as everyone’s going to think different of the sport that they will be taking part in.

Organisers: Jake, Sam, Mr Scarb, Mr Seavil

Sport: x country
|
Venue: school cross course
|
Numbers: 50 give or take a few numbers
|
Pre event organisation:
We planed out what we were going to be doing and been given individual roles as coaches and we did a risk assessment on the x country and school activities.
On the Thursday we took two different year groups to coach them in 3-4 areas (football, basket ball, hand ball and athletics) made sure we had all the equipment ready for them to be abled to get into the competitions without wasting the time.
Need to have all the games set out and ready to start as they came in.
Risk assessments done
Make sure we had the sports centre free to our use.
| |
During event management:
Sam and Jake told the year 8’s the routes on what there course that they were going to be running out of the bronze, silver and gold.
For event management we had 11 sports leaders this men’t the groups will have 2 sports leaders per groups and they will be given bibs and told to stay with there leaders till they had to go.
| |
Event administration:
Mr Scarborough was there to make sure that everything went according to plan and everyone got back without getting lost or left behind and everyone had the right kit to be running the course.
| |
Areas for development:
More marshals and to give clear instructions so that they don’t get lost or take the wrong course
